KONA 2006
KONA 2005 - October 2005 IM World Championships
Here's how I got to Kona:
October 2004
I happened to be in Kona in October. Wow! My longest run in my life had been a few 10k races here and there, a few 5k races here and there, swimming 100 yards, and biking 20 miles. Everything changed here on the Big Island .... I wanted to be a triathlete....
November 2004
I walked into Austin Tri Cyclist in Austin, Texas - www.austintricyclist.com - and the skinny, funny looking owner, Don, sold me a Cervelo Dual.
February 2004
3M 1/2 Marathon. This is my second run over 10 miles. (My first was actually a jog around Town Lake here in Austin.) It was super cold and I ran 1:29 with hair on my legs.
April 2005
1st IM - Oceanside, California - Ralph's - despite the wind, rain, and hail, I finished in 5:20. I'm addicted.
June 2005
2nd IM - Honu - The most beautiful ocean swim ever. I could have done another lap. The ride up to Hawi and back was ez. The run was hell. 5:25.
June 2005
3rd IM - Buffalo Springs - Lubbock, Texas, my first visit. It was miserably hot. 5:19
October 2005
4th IM - Conroe IronStar, Conroe, Texas 5:09
November 2005
I decide to get a coach, Jamie Cleveland & Andrea Fisher www.texasiron.net
November 2005
My baby daughter, Ripples, was born. YEAH! My new training partner.
February 2006
3M 1/2 Marathon - 1 gu, 2 sips of water, 1:22 (6:11 pace).
April 2006
My first Ironman, in Tempe, Arizona - IMAZ photos
Goal: Sub 11 hours
What I did: 10 hours, 9 minutes >>>> swim 1:08, bike 5:25, run 3:34 (my first marathon!)
